AASU/LGPE Concert Performance Information
On Thursday, March 6th, Band students from the West Chatham Middle School Band program will be participating in the annual Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) concert at Armstrong Atlantic State University. This is an important performance for our students as they will receive valuable feedback from professional Band judges on their performance. The information gained from this performance will be used to help motivate and shape the continued music education of your band student. Attached is a Parent Permission Form for this trip. Each student must have this permission form signed by a parent/guardian by the date listed below in order to participate in the LGPE event. Our performance at Armstrong Atlantic State University is free and open to the public (family, friends, etc) to attend and show their support.
Parents wishing to pick their student up at AASU following the onstage performance and sight reading session are welcome to do so as long as a written request is submitted to the Band Director by Wednesday, March 5th. Written requests must include a parent phone number as well as the name of the parent picking the student up. Students will only be release to a parent.
This trip is only being offered to those 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students that have the ability to demonstrate well disciplined behavior, dependability, and the ability to accurately perform the required musical selections. Not all students will be able to attend. Students that do not demonstrate appropriate/proper classroom behavior, and/or are not proficient in performing the selected music will not be allowed to attend the field trip.
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me via email or phone. All Parent Permission Forms must be returned to the Band Director by Tuesday, March 4th.
